The meetup was to happen in the Cafe de la Presse at the corner of Bush and Grant. I thought I’d have to wait a bit, but didn’t. My friend B. from The Shires was already there, along with a surprise guest, I. from the beaches of Ipanema. It was an around the world meetup in a French cafe in San Francisco.
As we got to talking over our coffees, I created a sketch in a book provided by B., a traveling journal of sorts, moving around the world amongst online virtual friends. When I was finished with the line drawing of the table before me, I turned the book over to I. Her turn!

Cafe de la Presse is one of my favorite places in the City. I really like the idea of a traveling art/journal! Hmmm… might try getting one started at an upcoming get together with traveling friends … Thanks!
Yes! It’s one of my favorite cafes in the downtown area too. They have the best frites!
Group journals can be fun. Just make sure you’ve got people in your group that understand the project. Otherwise the book gets kept, lost, or filled up before it’s passed on!
