A Holiday Fair Featuring Autographed Books and Direct-from-the-Artist Gifts
When: 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009
Where: Taste of the Himalayas, 1700 Shattuck Ave. at Virginia St., Berkeley
Getting there by BART and bus:
From Berkeley BART, walk north on Shattuck for 10 minutes.
From North Berkeley BART, walk east on Virginia for 15 minutes.
AC Transit lines 7, 9, 18, and 19 stop right at Shattuck and Virginia.
By car: Free street parking all around, though you might have to work just a little to find a space. It’s Berkeley, after all!
The Cultural Offerings
• Books: More than 60 titles on travel, local history, mountain landscapes, public gardens, architecture, Asian themes, health/bodily issues, psycho-spiritual topics, nonviolence, women’s issues, mountaineering, and economizing. You’ll also find novels, poetry, children’s books, and postcard books.
• Arts: jewelry, photos, pottery, etchings, prints, sketches, dolls, notecards, tote bags, scarves, perfumes, and more. Oh, and don’t miss the delicious ayurvedic treats with aphrodisiacal powers!
