One of my drawings from September’s session
Autobody Art Gallery in Alameda will be hosting its monthly life drawing session tonight from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. $10.00 at the door – or it’s free if you’re a member. Go draw until you drop! Those of you who have done this before know what fun this is, even if you’ve never drawn the figure before, or it’s been a while, there’s nothing to replicate the experience and the way it builds hand/eye coordination. The session is not instructed, but everyone teaches each other a little just by watching. The wonderful models are from the Bay Area Models Guild.
Jaqueline Cooper sent out an email this month that said: “Our space looks so beautiful and wintery with the installation of a MidWinter Nights Dream. We’ll have the model interact with our glittering tree branches, and this time we have LOTS of costumes and masks. Please come along and celebrate the end of a lovely year of LifeDrawing and raise a toast to the great artists who have participated throughout 2009.”
This is a drop-in monthly session, so even if you’re just in town for this week, it’s an opportunity to get together with one aspect of the local art community.
