The south bay has a small but potent art scene, with many galleries and arts-relates activities concentrated around Downtown San Jose’s South First Street Area (SoFA) district. This district finds itself at the nucleus of San Jose’s art community, both geographically and metaphorically. SoFA lies in between the University and the Spartan/Keyes neighborhood, the latter of which houses many artist studios, workshops, residences, and one of the most comprehensive art metal foundries on the west coast.
To find out what’s going on in the galleries, check out the In the News category for up to date exhibition and event announcements.
South First Friday is the area’s late-night gallery scene with live music, food, drink, and new gallery openings. South First Friday takes place from 8pm till late on the first Friday of every month at each of the galleries below.
